DENOSA supports Chris Hani Baragwaneth nursing college students
19 October 2012 Denosa place it on record that it is in support of Chris Hani Baragwaneth nursing college students in their contention with the department of health.
It has become a colossal task for students to focus on their studies due to the inefficiency of the department of health to manage a crisis that is 18 months old.
The department of health has been inept in restoring calamity and ensuring that there is a conducive environment for learning to take place in Chris Hani Baragwaneth Nursing College.
It is only the college students who have to endure the mediocrity of the Department of Health compared to their university counter parts.
This illustrates that nursing education lacks credible leadership, and is littered with individuals protecting their own legacy of poor workmanship.
“It is inconceivable that the department of health cannot prioritise this matter and find a lasting solution” says the Gauteng Denosa Secretary Dimakatso Sebopa. “We are calling upon the minister of health Dr Aron Motswaledi to urgently intervene” she continues.
The failure by the department of health has led to another college unrest, and as the organization (union) we feel that this cannot continue we need to find closure on this matter.
Nurses are the backbone of the health care system in this country and we cannot tolerate a situation that will produce bitter angry nurses due to poor leadership and inept system. We are calling all the nursing student to unite and peacefully pursue their grievance to finality using proper channels.
