COSATU to gatecrash Mayor Patricia De Lille’s Free Busses for the Wealthy on Sunday 19 March 2017

17 March 2017

Cosatu has noted that this Sunday 19 March 2017 there will be a free My City bus services in the areas that the busses presently run. This means that the mainly white areas will have nice free busses to come and go as they please in their city. The black people must stay stuck in the Cape Flats because there are no My City busses there. The federation is going to arrange free trains for all families to come to town, so they can also use and enjoy the free busses. The free trains will allow poor people to travel to town and then take the busses from there to see how good the white people have it , in relation to the Cape Flats.

Cosatu will continue fighting to ensure that the people from the Cape Flats also get to use the busses and enjoy the wonderful Cape Town facilities that the white people call theirs, but which belong to all of us. Zille may think that her colonial ancestors were good for us or that she alone can enjoy the wonders of this City. But Cosatu will ensure that Cape Town is a home for its entire people.
