Mpumalanga bus tragedy

The Congress of South African Trade Unions in Mpumalanga sends its condolences to the family and friends of the eleven people who lost their lives in today's horrific bus accident between White River and Nelspruit, and best wishes to the more than 60 injured for a full and speedy recovery.

Once again, workers have lost their lives while on the way to work. COSATU wants a full enquiry into the cause of the accident, and appeals to all drivers to exercise restraint on our roads, where far too many lives are being lost. We welcome BUSCOR's offer to assist with funeral costs and COSATU will work with interested parties to ensure so that the deceased have a decent burial. We also urge BUSCOR to assist with the medical costs of those in hospital.
