COSATU NORTH WEST PRESS STATEMENT ON THE PROVINCIAL ELECTRICITY MARCH - 23RD JULY 2008

The Congress of South African Trade Unions, with the support of the SACP, the ANC, the taxi Industry, COSAS, SASCO, SANGOCO and churches, will marching on 23rd July 2008 from Rustenburg taxi rank to the municipality of Rustenburg.

All COSATU members, communities and the rest of the society are assured that our strike is a protected action. No worker or member of the community must be victimised or punished.

We call upon all vigilantE groups, police, farmers, business and some individual politicians to stop victimizing our member and the rest of the public.

Our provincial march is build up to our national strike with a total stay-away on 6th August 2008.

A joint press conference will be held on 21st July 2008, 14H30 at the NUM Rustenburg Regional office
