Cosatu welcomes Motlanthe's appointment 15-07-08

The Congress of South African Trade Unions congratulates ANC Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe on his deployment to serve in the cabinet, where he will be responsible for, among other things, leading government business.

COSATU warmly welcome his appointment and shares the view of our ally, the ANC, that this is an important part of the process of transition from the current national government to the one that we are confident will come into office after the 2009 elections under the leadership of ANC President Jacob Zuma.

The federation is confident that Comrade Motlanthe will serve with distinction in his new post and wishes him well in his important role.
