COSATU LIMPOPO PRESS RELEASE ON THE SACP ILC
The Congress of South African Trade Unions in Limpopo fully welcomes the establishment of the Interim Leadership Core of the South African Communist Party in the Province to re-build the structures of the organisation. This is in line with our resolution to build that the SACP as the vanguard of the working class becomes strong and plays its role in advancing the interests of workers and the poor in the province.
We must therefore dismiss with the contempt it deserves, any insinuation which suggests that the establishment of the ILC, is intended to replace those who supported former ANC President Thabo Mbeki in the organisation’s December 2007 Conference in Limpopo, with mainly those who supported ANC President Jacob Zuma.
We call on all workers in the Province, COSATU members in particular to support and work with the SACP ILC to build strong structures on the ground. We further call on our members to join the SACP en-masse in order to make sure that it truly becomes the bedrock for workers.
