COSATU North West press statement on Johan Nel's Swartruggens Court appearance 12 February 2008

The Congress of South African Trade Unions still remains concerned about the delaying tactics around the trial of Johan Nel, on charges of murdering four people and injuring eight, in Skierlik. We are watching all the delaying strategies by the court of Swartruggens, and we will be there, even if they take the case to Cape Town or anywhere in the country.

COSATU is mobilizing all its members and communities around the Bojanala Region, including civil society, churches, political parties and business, to give support to the community of Skierlik when Nel will be appearing in court tomorrow, 12th February 2008, 9H00, at Swartruggens. All our members around Swartruggens will be picketing and demonstrating outside the court.
