COSATU pronouncing its preferred candidates for the coming ANC Provincial Conference at Sun City in May 2008

COSATU North West Province held its special Provincial Executive Committee meeting and discussed amongst other things, the preparations for the forthcoming ANC Provincial Conference that is going to to take place in May 2008 at Sun City.

The PEC discussed the names and agreed on the following as their preferred candidates which was based on the attributes that came out from the COSATU Central Committee that was held on the 17 - 20 September 2007

Chairperson: Kaone Lebelo
Deputy Chairperson: Grace Pampiri
Secretary: Solly Phetoe
Deputy secretary: Zakes Molale
Treasurer: Maureen Modiselle

"This is the position that is going to be canvassed to the ANC and other interested parties since we believe that it will serve the interests of working class and the poor in this Province. This is because of the fact that our Province is overwhelmed by number of challenges amongst which we have the continued killings of farm workers by the farmers themselves in the Province, poor if not non delivery of services to the people and alarming poverty", said COSATU Provincial Chairperson DEON BOQWANA.
