Election update
March 29 results are still trickling in with the MDC and ZANU (PF) both having 91 Parliamentary seats while the breakaway MDC group has only 5 seats.

The possibility of a run-off is slowly coming to reality as calculations made show that the MDC will manage a 50.3 percent win instead of the required 51 percent while Mugabe will get around 42 percent and Simba Makoni 6 percent.
However, we stiil have 20 constituencies whose results have not yet been announced but we hope by the end of the day, these will be out.

The worst case scenario that the ZCTU anticipates is a run-off between the MDC and ZANU PF. Unconfirmed reports say Mugabe's close allies have been urging him to concede defeat and not go for the run-off, but this still remains to be seen.
