Prayer Meeting 22-06-07

 

URGENT PRESS RELEASE

COSATU in Kwa-Zulu Natal, together with its civil society as well as Progressive Youth Formation has identified tomorrow, Friday 22 June 2007 as a Day of Prayer for workers involved in the Public Sector Strike. Same exercise will be to ensure that we share the pain suffered by the public due to the intransigent of our own democratic government. The organizations involved include amongst others the Kwa-Zulu Natal Council of Churches (KZNCC), Taxi Industry, TAC, Association of School Governing Bodies as well as the Progressive Youth Alliance. Such a Prayer event will take place as reflected below:

Venue: Ethekwini Community Church (next to the Workshop Mall)

Further to the above, all the formation will consider a more intensive programme, which could include the following:

· A complete shut down of services next week from Monday to Wednesday.

· A march on Wednesday to the High Court to demand justice and fairness both for the public and public servants.
