Denosa condemns dismissal letters issued to nurses

As the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa, we have noted and taking great interest in the developments at different workplaces. The volatile nature of these happenings confirms the dissatisfaction from the workers as a result of the lack of movement by the employer on the 6, 5% even after we as collective unions moved from our initial 12% to 10%.

We note with concern the following:

  • The situation brought about uncertainties and divisions at workplaces.
  • We are aware of letters of dismissal to our members by the employer.
  • We are also aware of the intimidations that are taking place in various workplaces.

We highly condemn the issuing of these dismissal notices to our members and call on all our members not to panic as we have already responded to the said notices and are assuring all those who received letters of dismissal that we will protect and defend them

The employer should also stop trying to destroy collectivism by inculcating division tactics among us, the working class. Instead, they must guarantee our members' safety in their various workplaces, as that is their (employer's) chief responsibility.

We emphatically pronounce undying support to the genuine and reasonable demands.
