The Congress of South African Trade Unions in the Free State and Northern Cape provinces will be picketing on 12 April 2007 in front of the Fouriesburg Magistrate Court demanding that a heavy penalty be imposed on the farmer who allegedly chained up two young girls three weeks ago. The province believes that the R500:00 bail given to the alleged perpetrators is a disgrace and shame to the people of the Free State and the country. The demonstration is in line with the CEC decisions that we need to ensure that the next decade of our democracy benefits the working class and the poor.

Our demonstration will start from 09h00 till 13h00 and it will be attended by members of the tripartite alliance and the community of Fouriesburg.
