Zwelinzima Vavi to visit Tautona mine

Zwelinzima Vavi, General Secretary of the Congress of South African Trade Unions, will be visiting the Tautona mine, near Carletonville tomorrow, 26 October 2006. One worker has already been confirmed dead, and four are still trapped underground. He is scheduled to arrive with officials of the National Union of Mineworkers at the mine at 14h00. Details will be confirmed tomorrow, and a full statement released as soon as the fate of the trapped workers is known.
