Dry-cleaning murders

The Gauteng Province of the Congress of South African Trade Unions is concerned about recent developments in the Vereeniging dry-cleaning murder trial, which has today been postponed until April.

This brutal murder of three women workers has shocked the local community, who want to see the perpetrators brought to justice and punished severely. They want to know why Inspector Sello Molapisi, who was the chief investigating officer, has been removed from the case and why the newly appointed prosecutor, Advocate Christo Roberts, said at the bail hearing that the state's case was weak, which led to the magistrate releasing all six accused on bail.

The law must take its course, the truth must be established, and nobody must be considered guilty until that has been proved beyond all reasonable doubt in court. But the culprits must be apprehended, tried and sentenced.
