Cosatu North West Rally - 07-02-06

COSATU NW Listening Campaign

Rally in Rustenburg, Tlhabane Stadium, 12 February

COSATU's Listening Campaign, in which workers' leaders go down and listen to the workers, was formally launched in the NW Province on 28 January in Klerksdorp.

This Sunday, 12 February, the campaign is to go to the people of Rustenburg on starting with a motorcade from Freedom Park, Boitekong, at 09h00 to a rally in the Tlhabane Stadium at 10h00 until 15h00.

The campaign is linked to mobilisation for the local government election, to the Jobs and Poverty Campaign and to the mobilization for our 2006 May Day celebrations.

The Listening Campaign will ensure that workers can tell our leaders what they think and what they want from COSATU and their unions, both for union members and the entire community around Rustenburg.

The rally will be addressed by COSATU General Secretary, Zwelinzima Vavi, ANC Deputy President, Jacob Zuma, SACP General Secretary, Blade Nzimande, ANCYL President Fikile Mbalula, SACPYL National Secretary, Buti Manamela and ANC Provincial Chairperson, Edna Molewa.

COSATU North West is requesting all workers around Rustenburg, Brits, Koster, Mogwase and all communities around those areas to come and use their voice to say what they think about the biggest trade union federation in the country.

For more information please phone COSATU NW Provincial Secretary, Solly Phetoe, on 018 462 2406 or 082 418 0750.
