MESSAGE OF SUPPORT TO PHILLIPE TROUSSIER AND LUCAS RADEBE 17 June 1998 The game against France has come and gone. It is an experience well behind us. We have learned from our mistakes and what should remain in our minds is how we will ensure that we do not repeat those mistakes. We had an excellent game against France, and we were just unfortunate that we did not create scoring opportunities and conceded two own goals. As you prepare to take the field against Denmark tomorrow, know that our support and love for all of yourselves remain unwavering. We know deep down in our hearts that you are capable of beating Denmark or any other side for that matter. The Denmark game is certainly more important than any other game we have played since we came back from international isolation. COSATU on behalf of its 2 million members is asking you to do what we all know you can do best - play to create opportunities to score and score as many goals as is possible. Tomorrow after your game the working people will be celebrating your victory in the streets in a responsible way, that we know as the fact.
